I have inventoried my on-going projects, because I honestly speaking lost the overview. I had started many projects but many of them are on-hold because they, on closer inspection, cost years to finish and in the meantime other things had become more important and I keep getting interesting new ideas.
In any case, I want to build new solar bikes of the Maxun One, some to lend out. Someone wants to make a trip from India to Greenland on my solar bike. That is a challenge, because the solar bike has to be very robust. This requires, among other things, ultra-lightweight solar panels.
Battery cycle life tests for high charge currents
I want to build e-bike batteries that can be charged with 3C, that corresponds to 20 minutes. For that I want to test which battery cells can withstand this high charging current. The tests will be done with the EBC A40L battery tester:
These batteries will be tested:
- Panasonic NCR18650B: 3,35Ah 3c=10A
- A123 ANR26650: 2,5Ah 3c=7,5A
- Turnigy nano-tech: 1,2Ah 3c=3,6A
The battery cell that requires the largest charging current is the Panasonic NCR18650B. It will also be tested whether cooling of the batteries is necessary.
Battery dongle for Haibike Yamaha PW-X motor 2 months
The dongle makes it possible to connect any battery to the Yamaha mid-drive-motor system.
Building a second solar bike 6 months
Ebike cable killer 6 months
This controller looks like a V3 cycle analyst but it has a lot more capabilities. The prototype is currently being used on the solar bike.
Lightweight battery charger with PFC 2 years
....
Superlight e-bike mid-drive motor 1 year
The efficiency on flat roads and uphill is about 90% in contrast to 70% - 80% for normal mid drive motors. The weight is just about 1.3 kg inclusive the crankset.
