For making electronic prototypes, I want to use both through-hole and SMT components on the same breadboard. For this, I designed a dedicated SMD perfboard since I couldn’t find any suitable perfboard on the market. The breadboard is a high quality, in contrast to many other breadboards. Because a lot of expensive working time is spent on a prototype, you don't want to save on quality.
These are the features of the SMD perfboard (front and backside are equal):
- Plated through 0.6mm holes allows both surface mount, DIL ICs and through hole components.
- The grid is 1.27mm, this is the most versatile and suitable for a wide range of SMT parts and SOIC.
- Due to the precision square pads, small SMT parts with a pitch other than 1.27mm can be used too.
- Due to the thickness of 0.5mm, the heat capacity is low, this allows easy removing SMT parts by heating.
- Dimensions: 50mm x 50mm x 0.5mm
- Surface finish: electroless nickel immersion gold (ENIG)
