I have developed a new type of luggage rack that radically departs from existing solutions. The design unites minimalism, functionality, and aesthetics.  The weight is only 300 grams.

During my search for a suitable luggage rack for my Cube Nulane e-bike, I kept running into the same problem: existing racks were impractical and unattractive (luggage-racks from Cube). Almost all of them are made of bars and designed for panniers. Because of this, you can't even attach a cycling jacket on it, because it will just fall through. No rack matched the low weight and clean aesthetics of the bike. This shortcoming became the motivation to develop a better alternative myself. The result is a luggage rack weighing just 300 grams:

The core of the design is a solid panel. This visually aligns with the design language of carbon bikes. Both small and larger items can be easily secured with Velcro straps. This makes panniers unnecessary, resulting in a significant weight saving.

This luggage rack combines practical usability with a sleek and elegant appearance. By deviating from traditional design conventions, a solution has been created that truly meets the demands of modern, lightweight carbon sports bikes. The usable surface measures 380 mm × 160 mm. Although the rack is designed for luggage up to 5kg, it is exceptionally strong despite its low weight and has been tested to a static load of 100kg. The price is €275.

Assembly

For now, the luggage rack is only suitable for bicycles equipped with mounting holes with 5mm threads for the rack stays.

The length of the carbon rack stays varies per bicycle and must be cut to size by the user. This rear rack has a minimalist design, which means no alternative mounting method is possible. Cut the tube to the correct length and then glue the ring bolt into the tube using the supplied two-component epoxy adhesive. The inside of the carbon tube must first be carefully sanded with the supplied sandpaper and then cleaned with, for example, IPA or alcohol to ensure proper adhesion of the glue.

I'd like to produce this luggage rack , let me know if you're interested.
